Job Description
The Sports Director, under the supervision of the representative of the Executive Committee for national teams, is fully responsible for managing the elite curling program in the Czech Republic. They create and implement a long-term strategic plan for elite curling, and prepare action plans and budgets.
As part of this role, they oversee the entire implementation team (including internal and external collaborators) to ensure the achievement of set goals.
Responsibilities
- Represents curling and communicates and collaborates with key stakeholders (national and elite athletes, talented athletes, the National and Coaching-Methodical Committees of the Czech Curling Association, the Czech Olympic Committee, the National Sports Agency, the Czech Anti-Doping Committee, and the World Curling).
- Manages and comprehensively ensures the preparation system of the national team.
- Provides assistance and support to national teams in preparing and organizing logistics for international events.
- Develops and implements a long-term strategic plan for elite sports, including participation in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- Oversees the achievement of set goals for national teams and individual athletes.
- Is responsible for the budget and compliance with budgetary rules for the national team.
- Prepares regular reports on the status of the national team for the Executive Committee.
- Implements the values of Safe Sport as defined by the Czech Olympic Committee.
- Manages and communicates with all coaching and support staff of the national team.
- Works closely with the national head coach.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; strong managerial abilities
- Familiarity with the sports sector
- Knowledge of curling is an advantage
- Active command of English at B2 or C1 level
- Category B driving license
- Time flexibility
- Experience in managing an annual budget
- Willingness to travel within and outside the Czech Republic
- Experience working with elite athletes and support staff, including assisting in the design, implementation, and evaluation of their performance is an advantage
- Experience in managing elite sports at European or World Championship level is an advantage
- Familiarity with grant and funding programs is an advantage
Additional Information
- Work is offered under a freelance contract (trade license)
- Expected time commitment: approximately 80 hours per month, depending on the competition season
- Not suitable for active players or members of national teams
