First, she coordinated all national teams; now she focuses on wheelchair athletes—not only as a team leader but also as an assistant coach. Eleonora Vydrová is organizing another edition, this time the nineteenth, of the international wheelchair curling tournament at the Prague arena in Roztyly. Teams from neighboring countries will take to the ice, as well as squads from Britain and Canada.

Which edition of the international wheelchair tournament is taking place this year?
This year marks the 19th edition of the international wheelchair curling tournament—in the mixed teams category.

Which nationalities are expected to attend?
Nine teams will participate from these countries: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Great Britain, Latvia, Norway, Sweden, Italy, and Canada.

You’ve been working with wheelchair curlers for a long time. How many years has it been?
I’ve been serving as team leader for the national team for four years. I hold a C-level coaching license and try to assist as a coach as well. I’ve also been co-organizing this tournament with SCJU for about three years.

Last year, the mixed doubles pair did very well. Do you think they could aim for the Paralympics in the next cycle?
The mixed doubles category is on the rise here. In spring, we’ll have the very first Czech Championship in wheelchair curling for this category. The 2030 Winter Paralympic Games are still far away, and many factors will come into play. However, it would be fantastic if Czech curling managed to qualify a team in both disciplines—mixed and mixed doubles—similar to what our Slovak neighbors recently achieved.
